Discovery from the Air was written by Major George Allen but never published prior to his death in 1940. After Allen's death, O. G. S. Crawford used the two drafts of the to create a completed version, but he handed the text over to J. S. P. Bradford for publication. Bradford created an edited version of the book which is what was finally published.
