British Coinage at the Ashmolean Museum

The Heberden Coin Room of the Ashmolean Museum holds an extensive range of coins which were minted or circulated in Britain. The collection covers coinages of all periods from the Iron Age to the present day. Its strengths lie particularly in the Roman and medieval periods, and in coin-related objects such as traders’ tokens.

Objects kept at the Heberden Coin Room have been incorporated into period-specific online resources.
